The name Porsche and the number 356 are standing for a unique story of success. From the company, which began as a design office, emerged one of the most important sports car manufacturers worldwide. Last but not least the 356 is responsible for this.

Michael Collins Motoring Classics are honored to be able to offer arguably the rarest "production" Porsche 356 model ever manufactured as this model Porsche Roadster 356D convertible were only built for 1 year (between August 1958 and September 1959) replacing the great Speedster, only circa 1331 of this model were built and it is believed only 300 still exist today.

They came with comforting seats and the windup windows but still kept the lower wind shield for the racing look.

This car was built for the American Market as a Left Hand Drive on the 27th November 1958 and left the factory Krans Motor Co Ltd in Pasadena on the 8th April 1959 via Hoffman’s of New York.

It was a special order with sealed beam headlights and US bumpers and comes with a copy Kardex from Porsche and drivers manual.

The last owner was from Los Gatos California where it spent most of it’s life until being purchased in 2002 by a well known Australian collector of Porsche 356’s.

They had it fully refurbished before shipping it back to Australia in March 2003.

The car is finished in a stunning Red with Beige leather interior and sand colour soft top. Mechanically it is a pleasure to drive and was registered in Victoria until July 2016.

This car can only be described as in concours condition and will be a great investment for the future, especially for overseas buyers being LHD and with the current Australian exchange rate.
